End of Summer is Not End of Harvest

Basket of fresh SpinachThere is a whole new crop of fresh vegetables to enjoy through fall and even winter. Our fall transplants ship to USDA Zones 7 and south, where winter gardens are some of the most carefree. The insects disappear with the first frost and the same cold brings out a delicious sweetness in greens.  In the warmest parts of Florida and Texas, you can even plant tomatoes for a fall crop. Timing is important because growth slows down in shorter days and cool weather, so look for Bonnie fall transplants at your favorite garden center now. See These Vegetables Take a Chill for a list of hardy veggies.
