It's hard to imagine summer without the hard-working asparagus fern that serves as a great filler in pots, window boxes, and baskets. Its lush, needle-like foliage is a great backdrop for other plants. It is also a handy source of cut greens for flower arrangements. Asparagus fern grows well without much care. Plant in just about any garden soil or in potting soil. Water thoroughly and keep evenly moist. Feed with a timed-release fertilizer at planting. Space 18 inches apart. |
